A Message to our Patients.

It is very disappointing that we have had several patients this morning being verbally aggressive and extremely rude to our staff, both on the phone and in person. This appears to be an increasing picture and it is proving almost impossible to meet the demands and expectations of some of our patients.

We are aware that this also happening in other GP Practices across the country but that doesn’t take away from the fact that our Acorn Reception Team should not be subjected to abuse from any person whilst doing their very best to help. Even the most stoical of our Team have been brought to tears this morning after doing all they can to respond to patients’ requests. Demand is increasing beyond what can be provided and we are answering the telephones as quickly as possible – and the whole Team is working harder than ever as demand constantly increases.

We don’t come to work to be sworn at and treated with aggression and hostility. I ask that you please be appreciative of the massive efforts that we are all putting in, under difficult circumstances and Covid-related staff shortages.
