Frequently Asked Questions.

I would like a face-to-face appointment, how do I get one?
Face to face appointments can be booked with the practice nurse by calling Reception.

We run a telephone triage and appointment system for GPs and ANPs, if a face to face appointment is required the Clinician will arrange this with you when they call.

How can my condition be properly diagnosed via telephone or video?
The clinician will ask you number of questions to ascertain a diagnosis, sometimes they will need to see you and that can be via video, other diagnoses will require an examination and in these cases the clinician will arrange a mutually agreeable time for you to attend an appointment.

Is your receptionist clinically trained to ask me questions?
Our receptionists work to protocols, and under the direction of the clinical team they may need to ask you questions for a number of reasons
1. To make sure they can book you in with the correct clinician.
2. So that the Doctors and ANPs can triage daily calls effectively, patients who are unable to give a reason for calling cannot be triaged and this may cause a delay.
3. To identify an emergency situation.
4. If a GP or other clinician has asked them to contact you for information.

How can I reorder my repeat medications?
Prescriptions can be ordered online through your medication page – For a Patient online account please contact acorn.enquiries@nhs.net

Can I remain registered if I move outside of the practice catchment area?
Unfortunately not.

If I arrive late for my appointment will I still be seen?
The clinician is able to see you up until 10 minutes after your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late we will be unable to see you and another appointment will need to be arranged.
