Your General Practice Team is Here to Help

Posted on:

The General Practice workforce is made up of many different clinical and non-clinical roles working together to deliver care to patients. However, when people contact us, they often expect to speak directly with a GP in the first instance or to book an appointment direct with a GP, even though that may not be the most appropriate person to help them or deal with their medical issue.

Over the last few years General Practice has gone through many changes, with a range of routes to access the wider Practice team and a focus on triaging patients to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional for their individual needs, in order to receive the best care.

As a Team we are here to help you as best we can and as a wider range of healthcare professionals are recruited to work alongside GPs, it is likely that you may have a telephone or video consultation or an in-person appointment with someone other than a GP, depending on your needs. This means you receive the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.
