A&E and Minor Injuries

We work closely with our colleagues at Hinchingbrooke Hospital to ensure that NHS services and funds are used appropriately.  Please only use the A&E department if you have a genuine emergency or accident which cannot be dealt with by the Acorn Surgery doctors.  Unless you have a life-threatening emergency—when you should dial 999— if you need care during normal surgery hours, please contact us first and we will either see you promptly at the surgery or offer appropriate advice.

Minor injuries Service

If you hurt yourself or have an injury (for example, scald, minor burn, cut, graze, sprain, bruise, bite or sting) you can be treated promptly in the surgery without the need to go to the A&E Department.

For minor ailments, you may be best treated by a Community Pharmacist who can assist with a broad range of conditions.  Staff at the Acorn Pharmacy will be available to provide help, advice and treatment where necessary.
