Patient Participation Group

We have an active and dedicated Patient Participation Group (PPG) known as The Acorn Patient Team.  They are all registered patients who help us to improve our communication with patients and to meet the needs of different patient groups. We want to build on the good work and excellent services we already offer to develop the practice. We are currently working with the Patient Team on developing a strategy to address the serious issue of patients not attending for their booked appointments.  The members act as our ’critical friend’ and from time to time organise fund-raising and education events.  Their monthly meetings are open to any registered patient and are currently held virtually on the 3rd Monday of each month.

Patient Reference Group

In 2011 we established a different type of patient group – a Patient Reference Group (PRG) which operates slightly differently to our PPG.  The PRG is a virtual group with whom we communicate via email. Patients identify topics linked to the surgery that they wish to be consulted on or informed about.  If you are interested in joining either of our patient groups, please contact us or leave your details at reception and we will contact you with further information.

Young Patients’ Group

We are setting up a group for our young patients, aged 13 to early 20s to address specific issues that young people have and to tailor our services to suit.  More information is available from our practice manager.
